During my recent stay at Rio Tempisque, I found the hotel to offer a balance between value and basic luxury that suited my needs as an ecologist exploring the biodiversity of Costa Rica. The room I stayed in was spacious with functional amenities such as a working air conditioner and fridge. The cleanliness of the room was satisfactory, and the maid service was efficient. While the size of the room was adequate for my stay, it did lack some of the more upscale features found in luxury accommodations.The lush grounds of the hotel provided a peaceful setting, and I regret not exploring the gazebo and farm animals located towards the back of the property due to the intense Nicoya heat. The pool area and restaurant were well-lit and popular among guests. The staff, although not English speakers, were helpful with local transportation and activity recommendations, showcasing excellent customer service.Rio Tempisque's location offers easy access to nearby natural reserves like Barra Honda National Park and Monte Alto Natural Reserve. The hotel's proximity to these attractions, coupled with its clean and comfortable facilities, make it a suitable choice for travelers seeking a cost-effective option without compromising too much on comfort and convenience.
